Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval patties.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Add beef broth to the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Stir into the broth to thicken the sauce.
  6. Finish by adding butter to enrich the sauce and serve over the patties.

  • Serve with mashed potatoes or over rice.
