- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Shape the mixture into oval patties.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Add beef broth to the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Stir into the broth to thicken the sauce.
- Finish by adding butter to enrich the sauce and serve over the patties.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or over rice.
- Can add mushrooms for extra flavor.
