- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese and crumbled turkey bacon.
- In another bowl, mix together the milk and maple syrup.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Roll the dough to 1 inch thick and cut into biscuits.
- Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped chives or green onions to the dough.
- These biscuits are best served warm.
