  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 1 baguette, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Incorporate the beef short ribs, thyme, bay leaf, and wine. Cook for a few minutes.
  4. Pour in the beef broth, bring to a simmer, and let cook for at least 2 hours until the beef is tender.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
  6. Serve hot with toasted baguette topped with melted Gruyère cheese.
