- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a saucepan, simmer apple cider over medium heat until reduced to about 1/2 cup.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the reduced apple cider, vegetable oil, and eggs.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For a sweeter treat, sprinkle with powdered sugar once cooled.
- This bread can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.
