Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, and cook the patties until browned on both sides.
- Remove the patties and set aside.
- Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until soft.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the gravy to thicken.
- Return the patties to the skillet and coat with the gravy; simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes or over rice.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add garlic powder to the meat mixture.
- Serve with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
