Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into patties.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, and cook the patties until browned on both sides.
  4. Remove the patties and set aside.
  5. Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  6. Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  7. Mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the gravy to thicken.
  8. Return the patties to the skillet and coat with the gravy; simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or over rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add garlic powder to the meat mixture.
  • Serve with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
