- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 large egg whites
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- Food coloring (for decoration)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt over medium heat. Stir until dissolved.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and stop stirring. Cook until it reaches 240°F (soft-ball stage).
- Meanwhile, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Once the syrup is ready, slowly pour it into the beaten egg whites while mixing on low speed.
- Add vanilla extract and continue mixing until the mixture is thick and fluffy.
- Spread the mixture into a greased pan and let it set for several hours or overnight.
- Once set, dust with powdered sugar and cut into shapes.
- Decorate with food coloring to create the Stay Puft look.
