Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices bread
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture on 4 slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and cover with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
- In a shallow dish, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk together.
- Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the sandwiches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
Notes
- For a sweeter sandwich, drizzle with additional powdered sugar before serving.
- Use any fruit in place of strawberries for a different flavor.
