- 1 pound cooked chicken, shredded
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 stalk celery, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 carrot, diced
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.
- Add the shredded chicken and diced vegetables, cooking until tender.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix in melted butter and milk until a dough forms.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough into the boiling broth.
- Reduce heat and simmer covered for about 15 minutes or until dumplings are cooked through.
Notes
- This dish can easily be adjusted for more servings by doubling the ingredients.
- Feel free to add your favorite vegetables for extra flavor.
